Ernst Fermen was born in 1947 in Hochneukirch near Mönchengladbach (Germany) and now lives in Mönchengladbach.
He studied in Düsseldorf and continued his education at the Darmstadt Art School as well as in various private schools. He was a student of Prof. Müller-Linow, Josef Jan Michnia, among others; B. Hermanns and others; E. F. paints expressive landscapes, still lifes, nudes, everything about life in the circus, the red light milieu and on the edge of life. His landscapes show the Eifel, the Lower and Upper Rhine, the North Sea coast with the offshore islands and the Baltic Sea coast.
The south of Europe, the Mediterranean countries and the Alpine countries (Switzerland Clavadel Mountains near Davos) are the artist's motifs.; The love for Northern Germany, especially the islands of the North and Baltic Seas, inspired the artist to create over 1000 paintings, watercolors and sketches of this beautiful landscape.
The artist paints expressively in a very colorful color.
